Studying in IUPC might provide you with a unique experience. Our courses are designed to be hands on, meaning that you should expect beyond one way lectures in class. There will be debates, discussion, presentation, fieldwork, client engagement and many more. It is going to be hectic but before you know it, you complete the semester with a stronger portfolio in Communication!

You are allowed to take any course offered in one semester (e.g. combining a course from Semester 1, 3 and 5). One course usually yield 3 SKS (credits) and students may take up to 24 credits per semester. Please check with your international office to ensure credit conversion as different university might run on different credit accommodation system.
Please be advised that some courses might not be offered in English. Kindly observe the course description book here or contact IUPC coordinator for further inquiries.
IUPC will be your main contact point throughout your study. Please reach us out to ask about academics and non-academic university matters. We also encourage you to engage with the international student community in UAJY which will have multiple gatherings all year round.
We can’t say this enough but we will keep you busy throughout the semester. Inbound students in the first semester will participate in our Cultural Immersion, an event where all IUPC students gather on a fieldtrip to immerse the nature and Yogyakarta’s culture. Other than that, we also provide you with a complimentary Introduction to Bahasa Indonesia class, runs once a week for two hours. This class is provided to ease your transition in Indonesia and at least helps you with daily basic conversation like going to the minimarket or ordering a meal, or when you’re out there exploring Bali. Finally, the university organises International Cross Cultural Day (ICCD) where the international students across UAJY will be invited to exchange their culture. Fun!
Yogyakarta is known as the student city of Indonesia, due to the residence of numerous prestigious universities around here, including UAJY. It attracts students from all over the world to study here and thus, having just the right ecosystem to support student lives. Not only that, it is also known as the center of Javanese culture as preserved by the Kraton Ngayogyakarta (the Sultanate; yes we still got one!) along with other cultural groups. From serious to fun, Yogyakarta offers it all.
